Today is a New Day

I am waiting for the call from the DS to see where we will be doing ministry for 2012-2013. This is a very trying time emotionally. I love the UMC and most of it's practices. This is a hard one to deal with at times. I just keep reminding myself that God is working through the DS and the Bishop to accomplish his will in our lives. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Celebrate Recovery

I am sitting here tonight thinking about Celebrate Recovery tomorrow night. Most people can attend Celebrate Recovery because of some hurt or hangup in their life. I go to minister and always get ministered to by everyone in attendance. God has so richly blessed me in my life. I think about my 28 days at Crossroads in Panama City in 1989. That was just the beginning of a fruitful spiritual journey. I would have laughed if anyone would have told me that I would become a United Methodist pastor. Becoming a nurse was also low on the list. I could go on and on about how God has continued to have his hand upon me and my family. I stand on Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God.

Blessings,
Dwight

This is a new day.

Boy is the sunrise pretty this A.M. I am thankful to be able to experience sunrise with all of my senses intact. God blesses us in so many ways. I pray that we are able to keep God 1st in our lives as Psalm 113 states it so well. God bless you as you start your week. We are preparing to celebrate Holy Week and Easter. Remember that Easter is the reason that Jesus was the fulfillment of the prophecy in the Old Testament.
Psalm 113:1-3 (NKJV) 1 Praise the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, Praise the name of the LORD!
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD From this time forth and forevermore!
3 From the rising of the sun to its going down The LORD'S name is to be praised.

Ready For Sunday

We visited the Chamberlains today. They are missionaries to Cameroon. They were so excited about what God is doing there. They were telling us their plans for the next trip. The children that they minister to are very blessed to have them. What makes me feel guilty is the fact that they are in their 80's. They have been on the mission field since 1950. I feel almost unworthy to say I am a pastor living in the conditions that we do compared to them. Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts as they prepare to go back.
